New Endings

It is quite common to celebrate new beginnings. This fact intrigues me and makes me wonder, why not share & to a certain extent, celebrate new endings. Should endings not deserve the same worth as any new beginning would. Endings brings with itself an endured past, a knowledgeable experience & the groundwork for the next step.

Won’t living in reverse for some time might do us good, so we can take our time to gather our thoughts and reflect on our experiences.

On that reflective note, please let us take you through some moments from last year’s Valentine’s week that we still cherish.

Top left: Our favourite type of customers peeking inside our colourful pastry display. It always made us happy when kids with excitement in their eyes entered our shop with the motive of getting their hands on the cake. They would leave behind them this innocent energy that would keep us cheerful for the day.

Top right: I wrote love on the paper several times before selecting that final version which we used as a stencil for our “love pill” dessert. Simple projects like this made me believe that one doesn’t have to always buy latest moulds or equipment. As a pastry chef, the basics of creativity come from within, and the tools are only supportive bonus to our creativity.

Bottom Left: The scrumptious inside of The Love Pill. The “pill”, which was created with light almond cake, homemade raspberry-vanilla jam & Valrhona 36% Caramelia milk chocolate mousse was decorated with two colours to give it the look of an actual pill which then lay on a dark chocolate shortbread. The flavours & concept were inspired from the thought, “A Lover’s dessert: A dessert that can bring out the feeling of love & warmth from within”.

Bottom Right: The cute little canapé. I think our dessert canapé deserve a separate blog. Nothing more to say here in this moment except for the fact that they were our bestseller range, and during valentine’s week our kitchen made canapé day and night.

Thank you so much for reading our first blog. Please look forward to our next blog where we will share about inspirations & stories behind our desserts.
